World Book Day & Young Writers

Thursday 1st March proved to be a very busy day at St. Joseph's. With the 1st March being world book day, children dressed as their favourite book characters and paraded their costumes for staff and class mates. The costumes on display were fantastic with characters selected from a range of fiction and non-fiction books.

Children also gathered to listen to samples of written work from each class in the school. This month children focussed on writing book reviews and character sketches. The "young writers" read their work to staff and pupils and the standard was excellent.

Certificates were also awarded by class teachers, to children who were working very hard or who had contributed to school life.
