Important update

13th Mar 2020

Dear Parent,

Please note the following information:

Due to the current situation in relation to the coronavirus, we have taken the decision to restrict gatherings at the school for the foreseeable future.

This will mean that the St.Patricks day assembly on Monday 16th March will go ahead for pupils but not for guests. (Up to 300 people would have been in attendance.) We understand that this will cause some disappointment and this is regrettable but the safety of our children and school community is paramount. A video of the assembly will be posted online immediately following this performance. All Children from P1-P7 should wear their green colours on this day.

Please note the following postponements:

Wednesday 18th March      -Our Parental Talk on children’s mental health

Thursday 19th March       - Ceremony of Light for P7 pupils.

Wednesday 25th of March -Sacrament of reconciliation,P4 Class

Sunday 29th March - Confirmation Ceremony

In the likely event that we will have to close our school, learning packs from P1-P7and online learning resources will be utilised by our pupils. Our website will outline how these online resources including the Accelerated Reading programme, SumdogMaths, Oxford Owl and Code.org are to be utilised by each pupil to ensure that learning continues to take place at home. Mr Hart will be posting online videos on our website to illustrate how you can access these materials through each child’s unique access number.

In school we continue to take precautionary steps in relation to hand hygiene and children are encouraged to wash their hands regularly, use tissues and cough into the crook of their elbows.

Please note if a child does present in the next few days or weeks with a temperature or sore throat and fever please keep them at home as a precautionary measure and seek advice from the Public Health Agency.

Also, in these unchartered waters please take care when discussing the whole issue of this virus at home and try to avoid discussing with young children present as some can become extremely anxious with what is being discussed.

Finally,Please ensure that we have your most recent mobile number as we will be sending out text messages as and when we get further information.
