Latest Update

15th Jun 2020

Dear Parents,

Just a brief note at this point to make you aware that this week will be the final week of learning activities being posted on the school website. The online aspects of learning will continue via Accelerated Reading and Sumdog Maths for those children involved. These platforms will continue to operate over the summer months for any rainy days when there is an opportunity to do some reading or practise Maths skills.

For the vast majority of children we can view remotely the progress they are making which is fantastic and a tribute to all involved at a time of great uncertainty and I want to pay tribute to all of you for making such a concerted effort during this period. We will be posting a survey shortly to get your thoughts about the learning arrangements to date and to see how we can improve upon our provision when we move into a new phase of ‘blended’ learning which will resume in September.

Please take 5 minutes to complete this survey so that we can get a clearer picture of the difficulties you are facing and how we can improve learning experiences for our children. At this time there is still great uncertainty about the future shape of learning in September, it is anticipated that clearer guidance will be issued by the Department of Education next week and much will depend on the social distancing measurement agreed at this time.

We will keep you updated before we break up for the summer.

Finally… my last challenge!!

All children from P3 –P7 received a skipping rope in their pack for completing their Accelerated Reading programme. The challenge for the next ten days (Wednesday 24th) is to watch the following video  https://youtu.be/pMSqCGHbS7kand try to replicate the skipping moves outlined by selecting some of the moves and putting them into your skipping routine. Then send us a video clip of your performance .

Mr.Mc Quade our fundamentals coach will be selecting the top three pupils from each class who will all receive a prize.

Pupils in P1-P2 should also send us a video of them skipping with family members holding each end of the rope. Again Mr Mc Quade will select the top performers.

Good Luck Everyone!
