Miss Rock's Accelerated Reading Awards

29th May 2020

Well done to all of the boys and girls in Primary 5 and Primary 6 who have continued to complete brilliant work on our Accelerated Reading Program. As a class, you read a total of 89 books altogether this week. A special well done to Eabhí Woods for her contribution to the number of books read this week!

A number of pupils have also achieved exceptionally high word counts throughout the week:

Primary Five

Eabhí Woods – 73,295 words

Odhrán McGeary – 53,758 words

Ellen McKenna – 40,405 words

Ciaran Woods – 34,361 words

Sean Lappin – 12,624 words

Primary Six

Tara Gray – 101,424 words

Philip Carr – 61,056 words

Aoibhríona Grimley – 28,738 words

I’m delighted to see another Primary Five pupil has reached her target. Well done Eabhí Woods, you read an incredible number of books this week!

I’m also delighted to see Odhrán McGeary has become a word millionaire. Congratulations Odhrán, I know you were working towards this! You should be very proud of yourself!

This week, in Primary Five we have three star readers... Well done to ... Jack O’Reilly, Ciaran Woods and Annie Smith.

Annie Smith has been working steadily towards reaching her target from the beginning of home schooling and decided to read two long books this week. Well done Annie, keep up the super reading!

Jack O’Reilly has also been working hard on his accelerated reading this week and scored 100% in his most recent quiz! Good boy Jack!!

Ciaran Woods reached his target in the early stages but he has continued to read each week and I was delighted to see Ciaran is now on 169%. I hope you will aim to double your target this term Ciaran!

This week, my Primary Six star reader is ... Clodagh Gallagher

Clodagh Gallagher reached her target but she didn’t stop at that, instead she decided to exceed her target! Well done Clodagh!

Remember to enjoy your reading and try to find the best books for you. If you haven’t appeared in this news article, I look forward to seeing your name popping up on my computer screen next week for great reading.

Stay safe everyone
