Mr Hart's Accelerated Reading Awards

28th Jan 2021

Good morning everyone and congratulations for reaching the end of another week. The effort being made by P6 and P7 pupils is phenomenal.

Over the past fortnight, a total of 94 books have been read. Well done to all of the boys and girls who have read a book and taken a quiz. These pupils are:

  • Oisin Coyle
  • Mya Grimley
  • Sean Lappin
  • Sean Mallon
  • Lily McElvanna
  • Odhran Mc Geary
  • Ellen McKenna
  • Cadhla Moore
  • Jack O'Reilly
  • Anthony Tighe
  • Eva Toal
  • Ciaran Woods
  • Eabhi Woods
  • Philip Carr
  • Maisie Comiskey
  • Hannah English
  • Katie Farrell
  • Pauric Fegan
  • Clodagh Gallagher
  • Tara Gray
  • Aoibhriona Grimley
  • Tadhg Grimley
  • Kealan Hughes
  • Jake Kiernan
  • Maja Kiernan
  • Ethan McCann
  • Annie McElvanna
  • Niamh McElvanna
  • Patrick Morgan
  • Sean Woods

There are also a number of pupils who deserve great praise as they are currently reading particularly long books. They therefore have not taken a quiz but are clearly working very hard. Also I am aware that a number of pupils are ready to take a quiz but have not been able to as a result of the technical issue with AR. Hopefully all will be back up and running this afternoon.

Incredibly a number of pupils have reached their personal targets after only two weeks. Well done to:

  • Ellen McKenna
  • Tara Gray
  • Kealan Hughes
  • Annie McElvanna
  • Sean Woods

This weeks Star reader in primary six is Oisin Coyle who has currently achieved 49.5% of his personal target. In primary seven the star reader is Maja Kiernan who has achieved 29% of her personal target

Congratulations to those pupils who have also achieved exceptionally high word counts this week:

Primary Six Primary Seven

Ellen McKenna 684,561 words

Tara Gray 431,872 words

Odhran McGeary 181,041 words

Annie McElvanna 333,558 words

Eva Toal 100,355 words

Sean Woods 327,180 words

Thus far the effort made has been fantastic and I look forward to seeing new names next week as we continue with our Accelerated Reading journey. Well done Boys and girls!
