Mr Hart's Accelerated Reading Update...

15th May 2020

Good morning boys and girls and well done for completing another week of online learning. Yet again your results are amazing and a credit to you and your families.

As you know it can be difficult to source books but the following ReadonMyon service is excellent and has a selection of E-books which are part of the Accelerated Reading Programme.

This week a total of 46 books were read. Well done to all of the boys and girls who have read a book and taken a quiz. These pupils are:

  • Eimear Cox
  • Liam McGarvey
  • Cara McGeary
  • Eoghan O'Hara
  • Harry Smith
  • Milo Smith
  • Ella Toal
  • Lucia Wochnik
  • Maisie Comiskey
  • Pauric Fegan
  • Tadhg Grimley
  • Kealan Hughes
  • Jake Kiernan
  • Maja Kiernan
  • Annie McElvanna
  • Niamh McElvanna
  • Patrick Morgan
  • Megan O'Reilly
  • Sean Woods

This week I want to give a special mention to some wonderful achievements in our class:

Firstly, I want to congratulate Sean, Niamh, Annie and Kealan who despite reaching their targets in the previous weeks have continued to read and take AR quizzes. This is a fantastic reflection on your determination children and I enjoy watching your continued progress.

I also wish to commend those pupils who have achieved exceptionally high word counts this week:

Primary Six Primary Seven
Niamh McElvanna 393,571 words Eimear Cox 102,248 words
Sean Woods 206,196  words  Ella Toal 80,232 words
Maisie Comiskey 67,076 words Liam McGarvey 63,103 words

Incredibly, as a class, we have read 1,167,130 words this week!

Finally to announce our star readers. With such a fantastic week of reading this proved to be very difficult, however, I have selected four pupils who have clearly made a significant effort this week. Those pupils are:

  • Lucia Wochnik
  • Eimear Cox
  • Maisie Comiskey
  • Megan O'Reilly

Thus far the effort made has been fantastic. I look forward to seeing new names next week as we continue with our Accelerated Reading journey. Well done Boys and girls!
