Drop-off & Collection Considerations

27th Aug 2020

All classes will return to school tomorrow and consequently traffic around the school will increase in the morning and afternoon. Undoubtedly the most dangerous health and safety issue for our children during the school day is the ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ points in the morning and afternoon.

To ensure the safety of our children please remember the following points:

1. The school grounds are strictly for staff, taxis and the EA (Education Authority) bus.

2. The area around the front gates of the school should be kept clear of vehicles.  Please DO NOT park in or near this area even for a short period of time.

3. Reversing to turn at the school gates or the immediate areas is extremely dangerous and puts small pupils at risk. (Please avoid this type of manoeuvre)

4. Double parking at the layby is dangerous both for pupils and staff on the road and should be avoided at all times.

5. The Church car park will remain open for the duration of the school day to allow for a suitable turning point.

Please ensure that you make all family members who may be collecting your child aware of these arrangements.

Staggered Arrivals & Departures (week beginning 2nd September)

Staggered arrival departure times for the first term are as set out below. We will review the smooth working of this process on a weekly basis. Please ensure that you are on time especially for ‘pick up’ to avoid children having to wait, particularly in poor weather.
