Sumdog Maths Contest Awards

22nd Nov 2021

On Wednesday 17th November our KS2 pupils came together to celebrate their hard work during the National SUMDOG Maths Contest which was run from the 5th - 11th November.

The pupils competed against 89 other classes from schools across Northern Ireland, with a total of 1,225 pupils entering the contest.

Tasked with answering 1000 questions (differentiated to each child’s ability level) the pupils set about showcasing their knowledge and understanding of maths. The standard was brilliant with everyone making a fantastic effort. The pupils were graded by Sumdog according to their accuracy in answering the questions set.

Incredibly, at completion of the competition, two of our classes were ranked in the top 10 across Northern Ireland. Congratulations to primary P4 and P7 who placed ninth and tenth respectively. Also, well done to P7 pupil Eabhi Woods who managed to place on the top 15 student leaderboard with a position of 11th overall.

To celebrate this success Mrs Donnelly organised a special prize giving with a selection of prizes offered to all those who competed in the contest. In addition special awards were given to pupils who made a particular effort:
